Welcome to the Hillsborough Police Department in Hillsborough, North Carolina

Hillsborough Police Chief Duane HamptonIn the 1930s, a town ordinance established the Police Department, consisting of only a handful of officers. Today, the sworn and non-sworn staff of the department number over 30 employees.

The mission of the police department has not changed much since the 1930s. Quite simply, we exist to protect our community and make it safer.

We cannot do this job alone. Get to know us better and partner with us to help make Hillsborough a more vibrant, safe and secure environment.
