The mayor may proclaim events and days of interest or benefit to the town.

Proclamations typically appear under the consent agenda at a Hillsborough Board of Commissioners meeting. The mayor determines which proclamations are read aloud at meetings.

The town board may adopt a resolution to formally express an opinion or intention. Resolutions also typically appear under the board's consent agenda at a meeting.
